As a director, I am primarily interested in unconventional expressions of content and form. This interest manifests itself through projects that are best described as avant-garde film and experimental media. My conceptual shorts are usually non-narrative and challenge traditional notions of film and perception. My transmedia work is rooted heavily in my research work. The output is often accompanied by in-depth writing that concretely discusses the themes in question.
In '24FRAMES', New York is photographed as it usually never is while the editing of the film only allows the audience to access the imagery if they proceed frame-by-frame. 'Seaphilia' features an unexpected object of desire and 'Searching...' is a prophetic hypothetical set in the age of spiritual machines. Though 'Four Broken Hearts' tells a story, it is an ongoing experimental transmedia project (featuring live performances, social media and location-based experiences in addition to film) where each piece resists a complete telling with the objective to create a 'life like' storyworld.
The work on this page represents the very essence of my artistic interests and is absolutely free of any commercial interests. I hope you will find this space as liberating as I do.
